Rebuilding Community to Build a Global Society
Idriss Aberkane suggested that every revolution starts by being: 1. Ridiculous, 2. Dangerous, 3. Obvious.
I like to apply this to the recent Catalonia independence upheaval and ask: would more autonomy at a local level help us grow awareness, concern and understanding of our individual potential to improve the environment, our economic opportunities, and cultivate a more harmonious society?
Jour de Fête 2017
Jour de Fête 2017 was one of those events. It brought together local musicians like Junn Hanamoto and young genius Touma Nomura, alongside local favourite chefs including Patissière Naoko, now without a bakery following burnout, and Tatsuya Zama, Italian cuisine maestro by night and carpenter by day, and friends enjoying each other's company for the countdown party.
Lost in our CNN cyber-vision of life, we forget how, as individuals, we possess the wealth, the power, and the care to sustain a strong local economy.
